Visit A College Campus! Virtually.

It's really never to soon to think about where you will go to college. By the year 2018, over half the jobs will require a college education. Not sure where to go? Want to visit a bunch of campuses so you can make and informed choice, but definitely don't have the funds to travel to them all? Take a virtual tour! has too many virtual tours to count! Chances are there are a few that will help you decide where or where not to go to college. There's also videos on career choices and college life.
Think about it. For less time than it would take to fly to several campuses and tour them, you could tour all of them!

Good Can Come From Evil

For those of you who know me, you know how much I love graphic novels. Not manga, mind you, though I don't begrudge the back-to-front-manga-loving-readers. And I'm not crazy about comics of the Marvel oeuvre. Nor am I all that interested in reading the other kind of comics: the Sunday Funnies comics. Too short and disjointed for my taste.
It's those graphic novels that provide amazing individualistic artistic style combined with a heartfelt or thought-provoking story.
One such graphic novel is Stephen Collin's The Gigantic Beard That Was Evil.
Collin's artistic style is more artistic than your average illustrator. You'll find lots of hatch marks, shading; a nice use of gradation. I also liked the way told the story through creative paneling.
So, if you're in the mood for a thought-provoking, artsy graphic novel, look no further. You'll find it all in this one.

Zombies Hate Stuff

You might even be asking yourself, "Zombies have likes and dislikes?"
They do according to artist Greg Stones. Want to know what penguins hate? He has a book about that, too. Check it out!
Be forewarned: his work is quirky and irreverent.

Not surprisingly, zombies have issues. And. There's an entire book about it!
You can borrow the e-book from Library2Go.
It looks like a picture book, but don't think you can bring this one to your next babysitting job.
