Scrap-Cracklings #21

The's happening as I type.

A college degree could be in your future even if you think you can't afford it.
There is lots of financial aid - not bank owned loans - that could help you earn the higher education degree that you deserve.
You might be thinking, "You know, I don't have the best grades."
Don't let that stop you. Take a look here. You just might be the right person at the right time with the right interests for that particular school or scholarship.
You might also take a look at what's available here.

Maker Alert!

Staying busy this summer? If not, you can't blame the library for failing to keep you occupied! Our newest series of events began yesterday. Did you join us in the Technology Room for Maker Monday? If so, bully for you! If not, don't fret, you can sign yourself up to explore Code Academy and learn how to create content for the Internets, from web pages to games. Then, join us next week for our next Maker Monday from 4-6 p.m. in the Technology Room. Experts from Free Geek will show you how to transform your old, funky, slow computers into technology that does what you want it to do using free, open source software. Be there!

Well Anastassia Elias has taken toilet paper tube art to the next level.

Random Club, Tuesday July 16, 2-4pm

Greetings from days gone by when people played games on a hard surface with chairs all around it. Sometimes the games were long; sometimes short. But usually they had cardboard playing fields and plastic or wood game pieces.
You too can go back in time and play these kinds of games!
Just visit the Tigard Young Adult Room Tuesday, July 16th from 2-4 for Random Club.

You will not need headphones, you will not need batteries or a charger. You won't even need electricity! Just bring your opposable thumbs and let the magic happen.

Random Club, July 9, 2-4pm, Teen Room

This week in the Teen Room we'll be celebrating mustaches. Among the ways we will honor that upper lip adornment: Play a mustache guessing game, make a mustache, apply a fingerstache temporary tattoo.
