Can You Cook?

It's getting colder outside, which always makes me think of homemade soups. For any of you teens interested in putting on an apron and seeing what you can whip up, here are a few books that may help.

The Manga Cookbook by Yoko Ishihara (641.5952 ISH). If all the food that you see in your favorite manga has you hungry, pick up this for an illustrated step-by-step guide to creating Japanese dishes.

Real Food, Real Fast by Sam Stern (641.5 STE). Sam is a British teen cooking sensation. He has recipes grouped by the time it takes to make them. Fun ingredients, lots of pictures and easy how to directions.

Teens Cook: How to Cook What You Want to Eat by Megan and Jill Carle (Y 641.5 CAR). These sisters whip up a bunch of tasty treats with a few simple directions. If your sweet tooth seems to rule, check out the sisters' companion book Teens Cook Dessert (Y 641.86 CAR).
